What is Learner-Centered Design?

Let’s go back in time for a second. You are sat in an uncomfortable desk chair, the smell of chalk and/or dry eraser pens fills your nostrils, and a badly dressed math teacher is writing out equations that you’re struggling to follow because you don’t learn that way! You turn to your neighbor to try to understand and are loudly told to shush by the teacher. Does this memory make the hair on the back of your neck stand up like you’re a cat during Halloween season? Mine too! I didn’t become an eLearning designer to recreate people’s worst memories from school days of yore! I prefer working in a learner-centered instructional environment. Read on to find out what exactly that entails!
